When joining the group, OSM will ask you to give permission for the use of photos, video and audio within our Group.

The statement is as follows:

The following consent options concern photography, video and audio footage of the young person/your child being taken, stored and published via the following: Group internally controlled publications and communication channels, such as the group website, email, group meeting place, group social media channels, group promotional material.

I also understand that I can ask for the photos/videos of my child/young person to be removed at any time by contacting us. Although these will be removed upon request, I understand it will not be possible to do this in all circumstances, such as ones which have already been published, for example in printed forms.

Photos, video or audio of the young person will not be used unless you give your consent below.

Please select:

  • I am happy for photos, video and audio to be published of the young person in this form whilst undertaking Scouting activities across all channels; or
  • I do not want any photos, video or audio to be used.

If you have any queries please speak to a section leader. Regardless of this consent, the group is not responsible for photos taken by other parties. Additionally, other Scout Groups, Districts, Counties and UKHQ may request consent independently as part of event registrations or other Scouting activities.

Photos/Videos/Audio will be retained inline with our Data Retention Policy and managed inline with our Data Privacy Policy.

What does this mean?

We use media to show the adventure and fun we have. This helps keep parents/carers fully aware of what we do and allow them to see what we do. It also helps promote scouting and the group to the local community to grow Scouting in Lower Kingswood further. We avoid identifying people on media and very rarely release photographs or videos with names on them.

Press

The consent you give on OSM does not cover official press photographs & media. We will aim to ask for your consent for photographs featuring your young people to be used in the press, however, this may not always be possible, such as large community events as the press take photographs without consultation with us.

Please ask a leader if you have any questions.
