The only thing missing from our team is you. Can you help?

Are you bursting with energy and ideas?
Share your skills and gain news ones

Volunteering with us is one of the most fun, rewarding and positive things you can ever do. You can shape young people’s lives for the better, and find out a whole lot about yourself in the process, too.

We are looking for volunteers to work with our Beaver section, our youngest and most vibrant section!

Volunteering is easier than you think. With full support and training, you can volunteer in a way that suits you.

Help give young people the skills they need to succeed in life and discover how being part of Scouting can be as rewarding and amazing for you as it is for them.

Without new volunteers this section will close soon. Please get in touch (at info@9threigate.org.uk) if you are interested in anyway.

More Information and Other Opportunities

They won’t remember you fixed the hut, they won’t remember you did all that planning, they won’t remember you unlocked the hut every week…

They will remember this:

And all your time and effort…

Week by week, our volunteers empower thousands of young people to learn new skills, make new friends, have an adventure and stand on their own two feet. They’re our everyday heroes and you could be one…

You don’t need to be Bear Grylls to join us. You don’t need to have been a Scout when you were young. You don’t even need to know how to put up a tent. No experience is necessary!

Our volunteering is designed to be flexible. You can give as much or as little time you like and we will match opportunities that fit your skills and time available. Just a few hours of your time can make years of difference. We’re only able to change lives because people like you lend a hand, whatever your age, gender, race, background or skillset.

If you are interested in helping/volunteering with us in any way shape or form, all while having fun, making friends, earning qualifications and making a real difference to the lives of young people, please contact us.

Current Opportunities

  • Beaver Scout Leaders – New volunteers are needed to run our youngest Beaver Section. Full support, handover and training provided!
  • Executive Committee Parent Representatives – For parents with children in one of the sections (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts), only 3-4 meetings per year.
  • Can you offer something else? Please don’t hesitate to say!

One of my big missions is to encourage people across the UK who have the time, enthusiasm and ability, whatever it is, to put something back into their communities. It’s about a lot of people doing a little. We’ve got a brilliant, talented nation and I want some of that talent to be used to support young people. – Bear Grylls (UK Chief Scout)
